Top 6 Things That Cause Pre-wedding Fights
Inter-caste weddings : Let alone the stress of convincing your parents for an inter-caste marriage, the actual drainer starts with the events that follow. Every religion has its own set of rituals that its followers want to follow to the ‘T’. The failure of their fulfilment by the other side may lead to heated arguments. For example, South Indian traditions regard the colour white to be auspicious and prefer to drape it on the wedding day itself. However, in most North Indian communities, usually white is regarded to be inauspicious and brides are not allowed to wear the colour on their wedding day.

Money issues : During weddings, fights related to money usually happen when it is being controlled by more than one hand. Secondly, not having a pre-decided budget for every particular thing may lead to you paying more than planned at times. Not only this, money matters also cause problems between the couple as well. The girl may want to spend money on having a destination wedding while the guy might feel that a better idea would be to save up for an exotic and luxurious honeymoon. The result, you wonder? A huge argument, of course! The family issue : During most Indian weddings, one party (Read: the groom\'s side) is always more dominant than the other, whether it is about wedding budget, rituals to follow or gifts for guest, etc. While it might not be an issue the first time but repeatedly agreeing to everything that is being pushed on from the other side, can be a cause of a fight between the two families or you and your partner. Well, family fights can even happen within a family as well, where your paternal uncle may want a particular thing at the wedding, your maternal uncle may want something else. Friends and their involvement : Dear soon-to-be bride or groom, you might be very close to your friends and might involve them in every decision that you take. But, many a times, the casual behaviour of one or more of your friends can irritate your partner or some elderly member of your family. While your sweetheart may not like your friend’s involvement in your wedding decisions, their playful behaviour can hurt the feelings of the elderly members. These can lead to some silly arguments and heated debates.
The guest list : Your father may not be in favour of inviting certain people to the wedding while you and your mother vote in favour of inviting them. Another issue can be the number of people to invite. Especially, if you are the bride’s side, the groom’s side will also hand over their guest list for the wedding to your family. If the number of their guests is exceeding your budget then there is no choice left with the bride’s family than to strike out guests from their own list. This can lead to issues within and between both the families. The past : This point applies only to the lovely couple. No matter how much understanding you share with your partner but your past can become a serious issue anytime. Seeing a fiancé’s ex at the wedding can lead to firecrackers between the couple! The solution here is to just grow up and accept that the past is over and done with. If your partner is still friends with his/her ex then clearly convey your feeling to them about inviting the \'ex\' to the wedding.
