Akash Ambani, the elder son of India's richest man and the chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani and Nita Ambani, is all set to get engaged with Shloka Mehta, the youngest daughter of Russell Mehta, owner of the Rosy Blue empire, one of the world's largest diamantaires today.The Ambanis on Thursday hosted a pre-engagement party for the couple, which was graced by Bollywood stars like Saha Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra and Ranbir Kapoor. The wedding date for the couple has reportedly been set for some time in December, but the lead up to Akash Ambani and Shloka Mehta's engagement which will take place today has already started dominating headlines across the country. Akash is a director on the board of Reliance Jio, the telecom giant that has shaken the foundations of the industry in the past 18 months. Jio is a fully owned subsidiary of Reliance Industries which reported consolidated revenues of Rs 330,211 crore (over $50 billion) in the year ended March 2017.Meanwhile, Shloka took over as the director at the Rosy Blue Foundation, the philanthropic arm of diamond manufacturing company Rosy Blue Group in 2014. She is also a co-founder of ConnectFor, which matches volunteers with NGOs that need them.Shloka Mehta's brother, Viraj is married to Nisha Sheth, belonging to the Great Eastern Shipping family. Sister Diya married Ayush Jatia (son of Amit Jatia of Hardcastle Restaurants) last year. According to a Finapp report, the estimated net worth of Shloka Mehta is USD 18 million (about Rs 120 crore). Shloka Mehta owns a few of the best luxury cars in the world. Her fleet of cars includes a Mini Cooper, a Mercedes Benz and a Bentley.She recently bought a brand new Bentley Luxury car for Rs 4 crore.
